| A Rather Sorry Excuse Exodus 32:22-24 22> "Do not be angry, my lord," Aaron answered. "You know how prone these people are to evil. 23>They said to me, 'Make us gods who will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who brought us up out of Egypt, we don't know what has happened to him.' 24>So I told them, 'Whoever has any gold jewelry, take it off.' Then they gave me the gold, and I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf!" After the children of God had rebelled in light of God moving in tremendous ways, we find Aaron offering a pretty lame excuse. Aaron, as the leader in Moses’ absence, willingly succumbed to the will of the crowd and made some extremely poor decisions. His excuse was that he threw some gold in the fire and out came a calf. The people of God need to step up and take responsibility for our actions. What the lost need to see is a body of real genuine people, not a bunch of saps who offer sorry excuses! ........................................................................................................Monday, February 11, 2008 Live By It – Die By It Matthew 26:52 "Put your sword back in its place," Jesus said to him, "for all who draw the sword will die by the sword.” As the arresting soldiers made their move to take Jesus away, Peter drew his sword and cut one of their ears off. Jesus responded accordingly in the above passage. By saying so, Christ revealed a great principle in life we all can glean from. We reap what we sow! You get out of life what you put into life. If you die with Christ, then you will live with Christ. Live by it – die by it! ......................................................................................................Sunday, February 10, 2009 Watch & Pray Matthew 26:41 "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak." ........................................................................................................Saturday, February 9, 2008 Why This Waste Matthew 26:6-8 6>While Jesus was in Bethany in the home of a man known as Simon the Leper, 7>a woman came to him with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, which she poured on his head as he was reclining at the table. 8>When the disciples saw this, they were indignant. "Why this waste?" they asked. There are times throughout our walk with Christ in which we will invest ourselves in a large way. Others will perceive what we devote as being frivolous and grandiose. The motive of this woman we find in the above story was not to be the center of attention, rather to focus all the attention on Christ. The fact of the matter is we could never give Him enough. He is worth it all, what we give Him is never a waste – it always serves as preparation for what lies ahead. Store up for yourselves treasure in heaven! Giving to Christ is never a waste. .............................................................................................................Friday, February 8, 2008 Faithful With What We Have In Matthew 25:14-30 we find Jesus telling the parable of the talents. Of course this was a fictitious story, but the relevance had universal ramifications. First of all we all have been given talent according to our ability. No one has been left out. Secondly, we must do something with what God has given us without haste (immediately). Lastly, we must use the gifts God has given us to glorify Him. We must…be faithful with what we have! ........................................................................................................Thursday, February 7, 2008 Little By Little Exodus 23:30 Little by little I will drive them out before you, until you have increased enough to take possession of the land. It seems to always take time to see God’s plan come to fruition. As I have said in times past, God created time for us! Without time we would all go crazy. He says the steps of a righteous person are ordered of God. Understand, as a child of God, your steps are ordered. He explains little by little will My plan unfold in your life. You must grow up before God will give it up. You must mature in Christ in order to receive all He has for you. Little by little! ....................................................................................................Wednesday, February 6, 2008 When Should You Give Exodus 22:29 You shall not delay to offer from the fullness of your harvest and from the outflow of your presses. It seems many get uncomfortable when it’s time to give. Our culture has a vein of procrastination running through its body that has unfortunately identified us in a negative light. Finding reasons why not to give (or give at a later time) seem much more evident as compared to just doing what we have so obviously been instructed to do. When it comes to giving back to God, now is always the best time. Do not delay! Offer God your best in every facet of your life. Our giving (to Him) must be a reflection of what He has so graciously given us! ........................................................................................................Tuesday, February 5, 2008 How Does God Answer Exodus 19:19 And God answered him (Moses) in thunder. It was the morning of the third day as Moses continued his pursuit of God. Mount Sinai shook with fire and smoke was prevalent. And God responded in the thunder. God instructs Moses to come atop and Moses proceeds accordingly. The people could not get near, nor did they want to. What an awesome experience this must have been. Sometimes (perhaps more often than not) God answers us in the midst of what we perceive as turmoil and crisis. It is when we need Him most, He never fails to answer. He may not say it or do it as we might expect, but consider His thoughts are not our thoughts – His ways are not our ways. Sometimes He answers in the storm! ..........................................................................................................Monday, February 4, 2008 Raising One Another Up Exodus 17:11-12 11>As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. 12>When Moses' hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up— one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset. There is only one way to win, and that is together. When we lift each other up, we will win. The body operates optimally when we operate together as one. The head by itself is useless. A pair of strong arms in themselves are hopeless without the rest of the body to use them. We must lift one another up! ........................................................................................................Sunday, February 03, 2008 What Do You Seek Psalm 27:4 One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple. The thing about David is that if he was going to be anywhere, he wanted to be in God’s presence. If David was going to see anything, he wanted to see God. If David was going to go anywhere in life, he was determined to pursue God. What do you seek? .......................................................................................................Saturday, February 2, 2008 Today Exodus 14:13 Moses answered the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today.” As you approach today consider God’s Word. Don’t fear! Stand Firm! See God’s salvation! Today! ............................................................................................................Friday, February 1, 2008 |
